Thanksgiving

Things have been pretty hectic around here the last few days. Raja and Fuchooman moved back in. We removed everything from the second bedroom which has been used by both Raja and Beeseboss over the years either during the summer or when Raja moved back home for one semester. The room has an odd collection of lots of 'stuff' and altho I redecorated it last year to a beautiful warm morrocan love nest, it needed to be thoroughly cleaned out. We have spent the past 2 days doing that. Purging, tossing and cleaning.
Raja tends to be a pack rat and still had things in there from her elementary days. I'm glad for a few cool things she came across. One was a cassette tape their dad and I made when they were 6, 5 and 4 to send all our friends and family for Christmas. Each of the kids talked about their fav things and we played Christmas music. It was so funny to hear their personalities at that age. I'm going to play the tape for them on Thursday.

We are all gathering at my son's home for Thanksgiving. Will be a lot of fun and with Eman's mom only being an hour from my son, we can visit her as well during the weekend.
The only thing is, we are leaving late tonight and driving thru the night and early morning hours...yuck. But, at least unlike the days when the kids were little, there are now 5 adults to share in the driving!

I am thankful for a lot this year.
-My trip back west was very special
-Reconnecting with my cousun has been a huge blessing in my life
-Knowing that my dad is spending his retirement writing poetry, songs and traveling around doing 'cowboy' research and playing his fiddle puts a smile on my face.
-Finally getting to that point in my art where I have a niche and doing something unique makes me feel much better about plunging into it full time.
-As always, I am so thankful to live in Asheville!
-I am thankful for the great friends we have met.
-I am grateful that my 2 college graduates are going about their lives happy.
-I am grateful that my youngest has found her path and calling in life and is pursuing that with gusto!
-But, mostly I am grateful for my simple but fullfilling life and for my hubby who puts a smile on my face each and every day!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my blogger friends and I hope you have a joyuous day!

That is so lovely! I have tapes of when I was young singing country music to my grandmother. I cherish stuff like that.

I love your list. I have been thinking about reflecting on what I am thankful for this year. I will probably post it tomorrow if I don't get too busy. I have to say that I am truly grateful for blogger friends like you.

Have a great holiday!
