Friday night my cousin took me out on the town, New Mexico style. First we hit several of the big casino's here. I have never been to a casino before and was a bit intimidated at first. We made enough that night to go to El Pinto for dinner.
I remember how awesome this restuarant was and I was not disappointed! I love mexican food and we have great mexican restuarants in Asheville. BUT...there is a difference with New Mexican food...and oh how I miss it! We sat in their patio area...which they wall in for the winter. We sat right beside a roaring fire burning cedar. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
After dinner we went dancing. Was a wonderful night out!
Last night we went out to celebrate my cousin's husbands birthday. I saw, for the first time ever...a real blue moon. I asked everyone else in the car if they saw what I saw or if my eyes were going hookie. The moon was indeed a bright blue. Not a grey blue haze when clouds cover it...not a light blue glowing moon it can sometimes be...but genuinely a bright blue color. I was in awe! I had not seen one before!
And of course...the sunsets over the Sandia's......I forgot just how beautiful they were! I hope to get a good sunset picture soon.
Tomorrow we are off to the cemetary where my grandparents and mom are buried. I have not been there in over 20 years...will be a very emotional day.
