No Fear in Expressing

I don't know why I suddenly thought of this topic today. Wait, yes, I do. After all that has been going on such as: Kids no longer being allowed to play TAG at some schools, people getting death threats for saying they are embarrassed by our current President and the banning of very worthwhile and wonderful books.
Plus, I am currently reading the book Among the Bohemians by Virginia Nicholson.

I found myself thinking about this: What are the things you would do...if you knew there would be no repercussions?

How would you like to express yourself if you went all out?

What is stopping you from expressing all out?

My oldest daughter was pretty much a preppy good girl until we moved and she entered a new school her sophmore year. Suddenly, this shy, always obedient girl was dressing in the most outrageous and fascinating clothes. She had no fear about what anyone thought and she learned that she could do and have anything she wanted in life! To me, she expresses the beauty of the bohemian life. She has high standards and morals but she doesn't care what others think and she doesn't live by typical social thinking.
She teaches me a lot and I admire her greatly. Actually, her little sister is becoming that same bold out-spoken being she was when she was little. Yet, she has this heart of gold and is so caring and compassionate!

I guess what I am getting to is that so many seem to think that if you freely express yourself, you must be a bad, foul mouthed, wicked person. Like say...Howard Stern.....and many others whom  we may see as hard core obnoxious, when they are truly deep, wonderful people. They have just learned to freely express what they are passionate about.

So, my thoughts today are in what areas am I holding back?

What areas would you like to be more expressive in?

If you could take one day and go all out for the whole day...what would be the things you would do?

I'm going to go make my list and share it tomorrow........meanwhile here is my Inspired #2 digital piece.

Great post! I really wish I could understand this too. I know that I am afraid to truly express myself. I really feel that our Bill of Rights have almost disappeared so that keeps me tight lipped.

Maybe in a different world or in a different time, I will be able to express myself purely. I try really hard no to offend people but I am extremely opinionated. So I just try to stay nice and middle grounded.

I'm so glad that I found your site. Now I wish I knew how. Was it Michele's?

I wish I could always say exactly what I am thinking, instead of being concerned about the people hearing it.

Betty Page had no trouble expressing herself huh? Great artistic work! Sometimes I am too expressive. And it surprises me how anyone could see Bush as anything but an idiot. It is like walking out to a blue sky and someone saying "Oh no that is a red sky, a GOOD red sky." then they get angry and keep defending that wonderful red sky!
